I don't want to start an argument but I just want you to know that your comment is insulting to every single woman (or man) who has ever been sexually assaulted in any way in their life.

This a kink meme, so I get that we won't have the most intelligent conversations about rape culture and victim blaming, BUT you just CAN'T say shit like that. Rape is the furthest thing from love you could possibly envision.

Because rape and other forms of sexual assault are very personal, and very sensitive even when they aren't. Imagine you had been through some serious trauma and someone made light of it; you would take it pretty damn personally, I imagine. Besides that, believing that rape is in any way like love is the kind of thought people who don't think rape is bad have. You know, the people who think the victims are overreacting, or deserved it, and that sort of thing. And being told something like that? That's absolutely crushing to an actual victim. Crushing, dehumanizing, infuriating, and overall just completely terrible.

So. I don't want to start an argument either, but please, in the future, take some time to think before you compare rape to love - and then don't.

actually. that i what I am confuse about. you seem to take it the wrong way. i don't compare rape to love. i don't think that Arthur love merlin at all. More that it was a really dark and selfish posessiveness! I think that Merlin may have some feeling for Arthur

There is a point in situations like these where people accept what is happening and stop fighting. This is usually a response to fear or a way to protect yourself. This can pop up at different times, just before it happens, or after a specific moment. Everyone's different. When the man who assaulted me started touching me, I repeatedly told him no, and he didn't listen, but I was frozen, couldn't move. So I accepted what was happening. I can't tell you why I didn't push him away or try to run, my body simply wouldn't move. I had nor do I have any love for that awful man. In this particular story, Merlin tried to fight, said no, pleaded Arthur not to, but Arthur wouldn't listen, so at some point he accepted what was happening.

Firstly. i think I should really explain so there's no hard feeling. I really like you sensitivity in this topic, it hard to find a considerate man. Arthur really hurt Merlin and while merlin hate it I don't think he could really hate Arthur that is why he doesn't react more violently. he possibly has strong feeling for Arthur(maybe platonical or romantic though i don't think he would ever see Arthur the same way again after this). Maybe it is just because are too kind and can't really hate anyone or he is feeling too hurt and helpless ( ... )
