LA! Dear god, thank you, thank you, thank you!

This went up when I was in the middle of my finals and it was an exercise of more self-restrain that I honestly knew that I possessed not to pounce on it the first second that I saw it had been posted.

Way to pile on the suspense! Jeezy-creezy, I was facepalming with great frequency because of all the tension and them being such... gah, I lack the proper descriptors. ‘Knuckleheads’ seems a little middle school, but that's what I'm mainly getting.

Have I mentioned how much I love the way you can turn a phrase? "...and the next backing off so fast he was leaving skid marks?" Love. This one evokes not only mental imagery, but even the frantic screech of tires.

Then there's the parts where you pull something like this:
"Jim grinned slightly, but he filed away the very, very slight wistfulness he could hear in that voice, the yearning for something out of one’s grasp. One day, assuming such a day ever came, he would do something for this man out of some sort of love (though he had ( ... )

*worships this fic* Seriously, you have created such an amazing Alt universe and your writing of each chapter just staggers me. I did see that you've jumped on the Star Trek bandwagon (not that I blame you). Still, I hope you manage to come back to Gotham long enough to finish this one day. Bravo!

One day, one day... Star Trek is just so pretty atm, and being an old time K/S fan, when the new movie created this new frenzy for them I COULDN'T RESIST. I know, it's so bad lol.

But! That being said, I do intend to finish this one day. I might just have to burn Star Trek out of my system lol, and I have no idea how long THAT could take. Ah!

Totally understand. If anything, I am truly grateful for the new movie. It gave Star Trek a much needed reboot and got people excited for it again. I was very afraid that Star Trek would fade away, but nope! The ST universe has been kick started with an awesome new movie and an awesome new cast! :oD

Just finished reading the series so far, I bloody love this! Last chapter was so perfect and revelatory and very hot of course, and this one's lovely too with all the doubts and fears and humanity shining through.

I really like the AU premise and your characterisation of Bruce (and Jim, but everyone loves Jim!)

This bit:

Again, he noticed the slight smile disappear, the darkening of the expression, the tightening at the corner of Bruce’s eyes. This kind of instant territoriality was very wrong, perverse even. He should put a stop to it right now. He should correct it before it got out of hand. It should not make him feel wanted. It should not make him feel viciously glad to have an emotional manifestation of Bruce’s feelings for him, especially as this manifestation was blatantly unhealthy. And it certainly shouldn’t make his unruly cock swell with embarrassing swiftness at this sign of possessive, compulsive interest. But it did.

Love that, totally made me laugh, aw they're so fucked up.

Oh. Oh. Oh. This chapter. Jim actually getting Bruce to talk to him, even if they were unintentionally -or intentionally- cutting each other with their words.

And Bruce's reaction whenever Jim brought up his wife was rather startling. Because, for someone who never really showed an interest in anything before, he sure gets jealous of a woman Jim spent so many years with. Obsessive though it may be, it's something right?
