Kittyville hat

I am 2 squares from finishing my very first scarf (which will be my first FO unless you count a potholder/coaster where I practiced stitches and binding off). I want to try a hat next; how difficult is the kittyville hat from SnB? Is there a hat that is easier in that book? I really want to try using circular needles or dpns.

well, if making a hat is your priority, i'd recommend the "hot head" hat from snb. the only thing is that it's knit flat, so you wouldn't get to use a circular or dpns. it's easy though. the first thing i made in the round was kind of like this.

I had no problem knitting the kittyville hat. It was my first circular and DPN experience, and it turned out perfectly. :) Once you get the hat started (and get started on circulars without twisting the yarn around) it's really very easy!

I say go for it!

Thanks for all the replies! I don't know what I am going to do yet, I went to the large craftish-type stores and they don't carry anything I need for any of the hats. The wrong circs, the wrong (if any at all!) dpns, and the wrong yarn. I bought some circs anyway, so I may just do a little practice until I can get what I need.
