I'm interested in making these non-mittens, but I'm very confused on the pattern. I've never tried to buy specific needles, and I'm confused on the two sets of #5 DPNs, are they two different sizes, two needles each? It's not two set of size five DPNS. It's one set size 2 (2.75 mm) and one set of size 3 (3.25 mm), with each set having five needles in it. I'm not sure where you switch between the two, as I've not knitted this pattern. I'm sure someone else will be along in a minute to let you know about that, though.

Thanks. I'm going to print the pattern out and bring it to a yarn store. I've never knit on needles that tiny, eep!

It looks like you need a set of 5 US2 double points, and then a set of 5 US3. Two sets (five in each set), each a different size. I hope that helps and good luck. I think I might make a pair of those for myself!

So tiny! I've never used such tiny needles! I usually use size 9 and higher. I'm going to print the pattern and bring it with me to the store later today. I found another yarn store (I've heard of it before) in my town, and they've got a fabulous 40% off sale ROOM.
