I went back to the gardening store & picked up two more seedlings, basil & chives. I was very pleased to see the latter, as I love the flavor of chives/green onions ( Read more... )

When the cops confiscate items in a an arrest, it all goes into storage lockers until it's no longer needed as evidence. Once the items are unecessary, they go to police aucitions. The biggest online police auction site is Property Room.

For some reason, they periodically wind up with large amounts of commercial gardening equipment, which are then sold for extremely low prices.

Herb gardens are a pretty awesome thing though. I used to grow chives, I love the taste of them fresh.

So far so good. :) I mean, during the week, I just turn to look at them, for minutes at a time.

Even though I grew up in a family that kept a garden, it just amazes the adult me to find that I can pick something off a plant, add it to my meal, and have it be edible & delicious. How does this happen? Dumbfounding.

I'm still thinking about nachos later, which would entail the bent fronds of the chive plant. Hmm . . . .
