At some point, when Vimes is looking at the top of his desk, he'll find a neat stack of red cardboard boxes of varying sizes. Inside is a variety of chocolates and sweets. Taped to the topmost box is a note on white paper with red borders, the words in a curling and obviously feminine hand, that reads: "For the watch."

How did it get there? They're the post office. Nothing stops them from delivering packages.

Vimes gives the boxes a suspicious glare and carefully opens one. He gazes at the chocolates for a long moment, then pushes the boxes to the side of the desk.
