Not the Gym

Sometimes you're supposed to go to the gym, and your kids, who on a normal day would be up and about by 3:30 p.m. latest, are still asleep at 5 p.m. So you wake them up and get them ready to go, through tears and wailing of course. I know this makes me the devil, but I do not let Max nap later than a certain time unless he is sick or something. He rarely does anyway, but if he's still sleeping by 3:30 pm I wake him up because no matter what time he goes to bed, he's still generally up between 5:30 and 6:30 am at the latest. The only way he EVER sleeps later than 6:30 is if he's been up playing for an hour or more at some point in the wee hours.

Oh, and because you asked a while ago and I don't think I ever answered, he's been going to bed between 8 and 8:30 pm these days. It was 7-7:30 but I used Daylight Savings as an excuse to push it back an hour and it has helped with the early mornings a bit. Before that, we were routinely getting a 5 am wakeup call and it was not okay.
