*we are going to pretend that it's still her birthday, as this would have been posted then had the typist's internet not died a sad, horrible and irritatingly prolonged death*

*leans against the arm of the couch, arms crossed over his chest, and watches her in silence for a moment* You know, were you any other woman, this scene would be almost innocent. As it is, you may be the only person I know who can make knitting feel like a reason to be wary. *not a word of it sounds unkind, simply factual*

It is some of both. Suffice to say that it could have been considerably worse. It did leave with some curiously nagging thoughts. *really won't say much more than that, because she's a loser*

Situations could generally turn out far worse than they do. *tilts his head slightly and bites back a smartass remark about breakdowns in communication, which he would probably voice were she anyone else.*

I found this and thought, perhaps, you might find it interesting. *that barely manages not to take on a hint of bitterness but the box apparently contains...photographs, specifically photographs of the family taken by SO-5 while investigating Tiresias*

*takes the box and examines it for a while* ... Thank you. *opens it, and starts looking through the photographs with slightly wide eyes. When she reaches the report that is presumably also there, replaces the photos and closes the box, setting it on top of her knitting* Too many things seem to be interesting, lately. Is this meant to be funny?

*shrugs* Not particularly. Feel free to take it however you will. Personally, I knew the contents by heart even before stealing them. I figured you could do with them as you pleased, seeing as I could care less whose hands it all fell into these days. *and because he can't simply stop with that* And it's some level of honesty, I suppose, either way.

*nods, slowly* I will look over it in closer detail when I have the chance. *tilts head at that last bit* Honesty. What does that mean, I wonder.
