Terry Boot!!!

Would you like to accompany me while hat shopping today? Since you seem to always have an opinion about my headwear, I figured you'd enjoy pointing out tasteful hats.

ETA: everyone remember, my birthday is next Thursday!

Macaw, to be specific.

See, I'm torn. Torn between the chance to make fun of more hats than a wizard ought to encounter in his lifetime (and with the pointy hat thing, that's a lot) and possibly do something good for the whole world while I'm at it and the fact that, no longer having The Gay, accessory shopping is not something I do, generally.

However, I do need to pick up a couple albums, where is it that you look for hats?

Maybe someone, anyone would have remembered my birthday if I'd announced it.

Do hope you enjoy the shopping.

Telling people probably helps. That's why I don't bother to mention mine. Birthdays are an abomination, celebrating a false, artificial partitioning of the continous, organic process of growth. And for what? A few candles, a cake and presents? For that you're willing to wait a year before acknowledging your next maturation? You're older than your age from the first day, and your age lies about you more every infinitesimal fraction of a second afterwards. But for candles, that suddenly doesn't matter? The world would be a better place without birthdays, and the sooner you acknowledge that fact, the sooner you'll stop living a lie and start living life.

You know, I remember my friends' birthdays almost always, without them having to tell me (once I know when it is of course, I can't just guess.) And excuse me if I'm not going to break with society's tradition of birthdays to make some sort of statement that you want to make.

You know what I like? Celebrating the fact that I did live to see another birthday. It's something that I appreciate.
