I'm still trying to figure out the point of Primeval. Flashy-but-not-particularly-spectacular effects aside, it has pretty much zero in the way of character building or... er, plot. All the things that could make the characters appear interesting and well-rounded simply do not exist. And as to caring about them? Stephen (I only finally ( Read more... )

I'm still trying to figure out the point of Primeval.

I think its primary point is to cash in on the success of Torchwood.

Whether TorchMDF was a success, I leave as an exercise for the reader.

A cross between Torchwood and Doctor Who, maybe. Without the humour or fun... I did read that initially they were going to run it opposite the new series of Doctor Who, which is supposed to start at the end of March or something. Because that would really have been a good idea. XD

I have to admit it does feel like a half-arsed attempt to cash in on/rival Doctor Who and Torchwood's success. But then ITV do seem to like doing that with prime time BBC1 stuff, Dancing on ice for starters *shudder*

The only real upside to it is Hannah Spearitt, and she looks daft with short hair so it's not as if she's that much of an upside.

I'm hoping it'll stop being half-arsed, but halfway through... Even Robin Hood grew on me and I didn't like that to start, but then, it wasn't really made as a cynical cash-in. Especially since I've caught a few of the reruns of the really old "award-winning" version and, well... People (me included) said that the new one was all boy-group-pretty guys and whatnot, but compared to the old version, the newbies look like hardened, battle-scarred thugs. XD And it had more in the way of humour than Primeval too. Hmm...

I dunno, Dancing On Ice isn't so bad if you like watching people improve (quite impressively in some cases, and I never thought Kyran Bracken could actually be graceful considering he's a tank-shaped rugby player) or watch amateurs almost crashing sharp and pointed skates into a pro's face. XD

And I like Hannah Spearitt's hair like that, actually. :P I think it suits her better that way than it does short. And I'm maybe gonna have mine cut like it. :3 Long hair's a pain once you're used to it not being there...

Um, we are halfway through Primeval aren't we? Thought it was only 6 episodes, so if they haven't got better yet...

Dancing on ice isn't bad, but a lot of the stuff they have - like the flying on strings bits really puts me off in favour of Strictly come dancing (even if that means putting up with Bruce Forsyth...)

I've always preferred her with long hair, but then I just like long hair on girls (as you may have noticed :P). Still, your shorter hair wasn't that bad an idea, so shorter still may work. Just please, don't do a Britney. I would put good money on being bald not suiting you :P

And yeah, I noticed how much of a pain long hair was, why else would I have given up on the having a ponytail plan?

Haaa, well, you never know. Robin Hood improved quite a lot by halfway through. Primeval, so far... not so much (but there are threats of another series. Unfortunately.) Incidentally, if you ever want to break your brain, go check out the official ITV forums for it.

I can't remember much about the last series, weirdly. This one so far has had nothing that would involve outside assistance (as proven by several people getting dropped in practice and a couple keeling over on live TV). I couldn't really be doing with Strictly Come Dancing after Dancing On Ice. Too slow and stilted. :( I mean, they STOP to turn!

I'd wager that Britney's haircut wouldn't suit 99.9% of the population, her included. :P Mind... I didn't realise my hair would grow so fast. Hmm... Maybe a mohican as a compromise. :D

Long hair can look good on men. :P How far did you get with growing it?
