I'm still trying to figure out the point of Primeval. Flashy-but-not-particularly-spectacular effects aside, it has pretty much zero in the way of character building or... er, plot. All the things that could make the characters appear interesting and well-rounded simply do not exist. And as to caring about them? Stephen (I only finally remembered his name after the third ep and a quick look at the website...) was almost killed in the second ep and I was sat there going "go on then, die."
It has funny bits, sure... Not many, but some. But I simply can't find it in myself to care about the characters at all. Even looking at the website doesn't help. It has random factoids in place of character information, and even then it's either stuff that might enhance the believability of characters but never makes it into the show, is stuff that I have no interest in at all or is stuff that has been rammed down our throats for the last three weeks.
I'm trying to like it, I really am, and I'm hoping it'll improve (although there are now only three eps left in the series), but... So far, the most interesting thing I found myself thinking has been "Stephen/Connor OTP!"
Despite the laughable triangle of Stephen/Abby/Connor.
Cut out the middle woman, I say.
