"My Lord," Bellatrix kneeled just inside the door and then stood and made her way the rest of the way into the room. "We were able to track the Order to a safehouse."
It was a lie but hopefully the Dark Lord wouldn't notice. She refused to accept failure. This had not been her mission. As it was, there had been no one in charge and she would not hesitate to throw the rest to the wolves.
Seamus entered and kept his head down. He fingered his wand in nervousness as he concentrated on his Occlumency. His memory of duelling Dean was forefront in his mind.
"My Lord," was all he said as he knelt at the Dark Lord's feet. Sweat made his grip loose as he held on for all that he was worth.
Severus entered, head held high but eyes adverted. Though he would have preferred to see Voldemort, he knew that doing such a thing following this failure would only anger the Dark Lord further.
Keeping his mental shields tight, he knelt down. "My Lord."
Though his head was held high (momentarily, that is), Rabastan still felt his stomach hanging somewhere in the vicinity of his knees. He immediately bowed his head in submission, sinking to his knee before his Lord. At least he had been the first one. At least he had tried.
Of course, being the first one, he should have been able to stop them.
"My Lord," Rabastan said, bowing his head even lower. Perhaps as the one usually kicked around and forgotten, he would be forgotten when the punishments came 'round.
"Fools," he hissed and then, with a casual gesture, used Legilimency to delve into their heads. In Bellatrix's mind, he watched as Rabastan fell backwards and the Order fled out before them. In Liam's mind, he felt the desperate need to prove himself as the boy ran after someone. In Snape's mind, he watched as the Order made their escape and in Rabastan's mind... "Crucio," he cast at each of them. They had all failed him.
