Alecto was sure that her brother was locked up away in his study, doing god knew what. It was almost peculiar for him not to come down and greet her when she'd gotten home, but she knew where he was, and what he must be doing. It was the only real reason he'd ever neglect her. And Amycus was rarely neglectful.

After she'd put her things in her room, she went down the hall to his study, not bothering to knock, just pushing the door in. Oh good, she was right on the first try. "Amycus.." she greeted, coming into the room. Just as she had suspected. "There you are, I was almost worried."

Almost.

Amycus glanced up at the large clock on the wall. He'd gotten so wrapped up with his collection that he'd neglected to notice that it was nearly time for Alecto to be home. And home she was.

He flicked his wand at the phials and they shuffled off to his shelves in an orderly fashion, placing themselves neatly on each shelf.

"Your concern for my well being is appreciated, my dear sister." He turned to face her. What could be considered a smile appeared on his face. In reality it was more a display of teeth, the expression never truly meeting his eyes.

He held out his arm to her as any good gentleman would. "Tell me about your day."

"Well usually you're just so punctual about my arrival, I figured you were up here, wasting away without me," where he smiled, she smirked at him and went over to him to take his arm.

Thinking for a moment, she began, "Well today I had a couple tell me that they couldn't possibly conceive because of religious differences. Can you believe that?" she looked horrified just thinking about it really.

"If we left things up to their supposed god, their sad existence would be completely wiped out, children or no. You would think more people would be grateful about someone trying to save ourselves," she paused then and looked over at him.

"And how was your day, dear? I wasn't interrupting anything, was I?"

"I very nearly was." Amycus frowned. His collection had been neglected for so long that he'd spent his whole day off working with it. And he still couldn't shake the feeling that he'd started to get as of late that he knew just who that man in the alley had been.

Reaching over, Amycus affectionately nudged the back of his knuckles against his sister's cheek. "My day has been significantly dull and excruciatingly boring. I certainly didn't do anything that would lead to an amusing anecdote about clients with bizarre religious problems."

He led his sister out of the study and down the corridor. "I think I shall have to make an effort to put aside some time for the Wizengamot tomorrow." He grimaced. Dealing with lawyers was not high on his list of priorities. "There's something that's been bothering me as of late. Nothing for you to be concerned about, my dear."

"Come. Plippy has made us a lovely supper to be followed by your favourite dessert."

Her hand patted his hand, in reassurance that she wouldn't let him ever waste away, not up in his study or anywhere else. She could tell something was on his mind, but figured he'd tell her when he was ready.

She nuzzled gently back against his hand as they went down the hallway, "Pity you've not had the excitement I have. And excitement is a very liberal word." but bothering perked up her ears. "Of course I'm going to be concerned. If it concerns you, then it concerns me. What is it?"

She wouldn't push, well not unless she felt like it was bad. She licked her lips in anticipation of desert and waited for him to tell her.
