Penelope had been cleaning out a nasty dragon-inflicted wound when the rather irritated witch barged in to summon her. Penelope wasn't at all surprised that the woman was so annoyed - over the past month there had been so many Ministry officials trailing in to see her that it had exceeded even a daily occurrance. Penelope sighed, called for another Healer to attend the dragontender, and followed the receptionist out to the foyer.

"Percy!" she exclaimed suddenly, as she spotted the redhead waiting for her. "You're - you - what the devil are you doing here?" she spluttered, hands on her hips.

Percy jumped to his feet. He smoothed his robes, a habit that appeared with annoying frequency when he was nervous, and started walking toward Penelope. She didn't look pleased to see him. Yet. He had a feeling her attitude would change once she heard what he had to say.

"I needed to see you," he said. "Is there somewhere we could talk?" He added after a short moment of consideration,"Privately. It's Ministry Business."

He walked past Penelope, who hadn't moved. "I think it'd be best for you to lead the way."

Penelope raised her eyebrows, but span on her heel and led him towards her office anyway - one of the few things the Ministry had oh-so-kindly granted her, with her promotion. As her sensibly heeled shoes clicked along the floor, she cast a look back over her shoulder at Percy. He certainly didn't seem to be on one of his power-glutting rampages; in fact he looked more nervous than anything.

"There 'ave been a lot of people here on Ministry business," she said, with a hint of curiosity. "But I'd rather thought we were done with that sort of thing, now that my sentence has been given and all that remains is for me to serve it."

She sat at her meagre desk and gestured for Percy to take the opposite seat (or at least to attempt to, given that the room was so small the chair could hardly move).

"This, though, is Ministry business of a more pleasant sort, I think." Percy smiled. "What if I told you I found a way to get you out of this house arrest business?"

Percy crossed his arms. It took great restraint to keep the smug smile that usually followed a revelation like this. But then he remembered Bellatrix, who had not been amused by it, and that seemed to be enough to keep that smile from his lips. Instead he gave Penelope a meaningful look. "Well?" he asked, attempting to prompt her from her silence.

Penelope's heart had leapt into her throat and she wasn't sure that she could keep from throwing her arms around the slimy bastard of a traitor's throat in happiness. If only he knew just what he was giving her - what he was giving the Order - he surely wouldn't be doing this.

But why was he doing this? Penelope's agape pause turned to a frown as she pondered it. "I would have to ask," she said, controlling her excitement with curiosity, "why on earth you want to help me out like this in the first place."
