Percy waltzed through the sparsely populated waiting room. He stopped at the reception desk, where he'd most recently stood keeping a protective hand over his insides as they tried to spill outside, and looked down his, relatively long, nose at the witch working the desk.
"I need to see Healer Penelope Clearwater, please," he said, sounding very official. He reached into his robes and retrieved his Ministry identification, holding it out for her inspection. "It's official business. I'll need to see her right away."
Percy couldn't say he wasn't relieved when the witch didn't look back up at him or take the time to actually look at the documentation he provided. She simply repeated the name - "Healer Clearwater" - and then shooed him off to sit in one of the uncomfortable chairs that lined the room.
He was nervous. He let his hand rest on the outside of his pocket. Inside was a rather hastily clipped article from the Prophet, the one that had alerted him to Penelope's plight. He sighed. He planned on rescuing Penelope, or at least attempting it. He had no idea what he was going to do after he got her out though. A flurry of questions raced through is mind followed by surprisingly detailed images of what consequences could befall him whether he was successful or not.
Best not to think of that, he thought. You're a bloody Gryiffindor, Percy. You're supposed to be brave, man! Keep it together. Stick to the plan and things will be all right.
The Plan was thoroughly researched, of course. And if he played his cards right - well, there was no - all right, little - chance anything bad would happen to him.
Percy took one last look at the exit. He could get up and go as though he were never even there. "Bravery," he muttered to himself. He turned away from the exit and trained his gaze on the set of doors near the reception desk and waited for Penelope to emerge. Now, his only worry was whether or not she'd hex him before he had the chance to follow through with The Plan.
