It's always the oddest little details that hit so well - the Doctor's sneakers and trouser legs getting wet in puddles he won't/can't avoid, acting like an eccentric uncle embarrassing people in public, Jack spending his (limitless) time learning new trades - and getting annoyed with the Doctor's unchanging face - and then there's the dialogue and that utterly perfect understated understanding... Nope - nothing constructive to add I'm afraid, just damn that's good.

Thank you so much for such a lovely long comment! I've got such a big grin on my face right now. It's brilliant to know that the little details worked: as a writer, they're one of the things that interest me most, and I was really consciously trying to use them more in this fic. Understatement was another thing I was trying for, so as you can imagine this comment has me over the moon! Thank you :)
