warning tl;dr Caroline rambling ahead!noteasilywonMarch 24 2010, 22:13:04 UTC
:D.
I know, right? BITCHES BETTA RECOGNIZE!
All I could think about when I was starting The Adventures was how crappy Caroline's life would be right after the events of P&P. I mean, she's lost her man, her brother's married so he doesn't really need her around anymore, and she's going to be laughed at in society because she wasn't exactly subtle about her feelings for Mr. Darcy. Plus, Lizzy will totally take what I imagine was Caroline's place as Georgiana Darcy's big-sister figure, and will teach her all her dreadfully common habits (like taking long walks in the wilderness- imagine!).
And worst of all, the two dreams Caroline cherished most, which she had worked so hard on and planned so carefully for - for her brother to marry Miss Darcy, and to marry Mr. Darcy herself - have gone up in flames. And this is all pretty much because of one woman.
Elizabeth Bennet ruins lives. True story.
(It's a little sad how much dislike I now feel for one of the most beloved characters in literature.)
