Birthdays weren't important to him anymore, or at least that's what he always claimed. After all, living through three thousand and more of them probably left a little to the imagination anymore. He didn't care. Nope. Not at all. But you know, it's also Yuugi's birthday, too, so he was very happy to give that much more attention than his own.

Slowly he lifted his eyes to the other man. "You could just leave, you know. You could have a driver take Mokuba home." He knew Seto didn't do social parties, not with his friends, only corporate things. Seeing him here, while nice, was slightly confusing.

"That, along with the presence of your drink, keeps me here. I would have left already if it was possible," he added, once another hint of the alcohol reached his nose. If Atem had it, it had to be easily accessible somewhere in the area. That alone was risk enough for Mokuba.

"When are you planning on leaving?" His words were careful and calm, making sure he didn't trip over them as the world shook on its axis slightly.

Of course he still had to provide damage control when Honda and Jounouchi hit the alcohol and decided to go 'shot for shot', which Yuugi protested was a very bad idea. Even if he had some himself, mostly because Ji-chan bought him a bottle of sake, even if normally he didn't drink so it didn't take much to get him flushed in the face ( ... )

There was a slow nod, as much as he would have liked for it to be quick, to the question. "Are you?" And a slightly faster return in it.

At least it didn't take too long to find a certain Pharaoh. His shoes were gone and the light was on by the back door. Yugi went outside after noticing that familiar spiky hair outside and sat next to his partner.
"You're not having fun." Yugi sat next to his partner, trying to hold a smile. He could tell Atem was drunk and that upset him a little. Was the party that terrible? Did he do something wrong? Why would Atem rather be outside, all alone?
But he decided against asking about the alcohol. "Why are you out here, mou hitori no boku?" There were plenty of fun things to do inside. He could at least fanboy over the new cards they got or something...

Upsetting Yugi was a sin, however, and he'd done it so easily. "I just needed some air." His words were careful and slow as he tried not to show off just how much he'd consumed in the past few hours.

"...Are you sure?" Then again, he didn't want to upset the other. Maybe he'd just change the subject, unless Atem interrupted him first. "...There's still..."

"I'm sure. Really." Trying to sound sincere through the slight drunken slur he was carrying as he looked at the other.

But where did he go?
Yuugi made his way around the back and found him by himself, frowning he moved over to him when he was spoken too.
"What do you mean 'what's wrong'? I was wondering where you had disappeared to. Didn't you have fun Atem?" he asked, taking a placed beside him. "I wanted to thank you for all of the effort you put into making this day wonderful for me. I really did enjoy it."
