Friday afternoon - Around and about

May 26, 2006 16:14

Elizabeth might have already been for a short walk this morning. But this walk was for the purpose of seeing what she could photograph for her workshop and Janet was coming with.

So, after the fun at the beach workshop, she headed back to the cabin to pick up her camera once more.

Janet was walking alongside Liz, having been at the same workshop. "Have you found any of your pictures yet?"

"Not really," Elizabeth said, shaking her head. "I took the digital camera out this morning and I need to be shooting in film for the workshop."

"At least it's a pretty nice day today," commented Janet. "Where did you want to look first, once you get your camera?"

"Head towards the town first, perhaps?" Elizabeth suggested. "Then back via the school so you can, um, find your notebook and uh, checkyourpost."

"Funny, I was thinking milkshake too," Elizabeth laughed, pushing open the door to the diner with her free hand.

"That's because they're yummy," said Janet. "And you can get whipped cream and a cherry on top of them." She scanned the diner for a free booth. There were a few.

Elizabeth let Janet lead her along. "That is true, yes. Although if we're really going to be splurging now, we really need to make sure we work it all off later." And yes, that was said with a completely straight face.

Janet stopped by a booth and slid into it, letting go of Liz's hand reluctantly. "We do, yes. I'm sure we'll manage to come up with something." Janet's mouth almost twitched up into a smile, but she held it in.

Janet unlocked the door, maneuvered a plain cardboard box from just to the left of the door inside their room, and held the door open to let Liz inside, a small smile on her face the whole time.

Elizabeth's hands were on Janet's waist and she was kissing her as soon as she stepped over the threshold. She kicked the door shut behind her.

Janet's hands slipped under Liz's shirt as they kissed, and she pulled Liz closer, looking up at her as she pulled away to gasp for air. "Good. I can finally stop pretending I haven't been waiting all day to peel off your clothing."

"God, I know," Elizabeth moaned, reaching behind her to snap the door lock.
