Will's assigned little brother hadn't showed up yesterday, and she still hadn't heard the name Kurt mentioned anywhere yet. Part of her was getting worried. Did he get lost? Was he not coming? Did the evil locker eat him ( Read more... )

Rikku's conversation yesterday with AJ reminded her: where was Valentine? She'd been too distracted by classes and everything else going on, and he was bound to turn up sooner or later, except he kinda hadn't. Not good.

She'd paid a quick handwavey visit to her little sib, just to be sure. Nope, Valentine hadn't been back to the room.

Maybe he really was racking up some good money juggling. But something felt weird.

Chewing her lip, Rikku stopped in Will's doorway. "Uh, hiya. Do you have a second?"

Will looked up from where she was copying down the lyrics to Ever the Same for Kurt. She smiled at the visitor.

"Sure, Rikku! What's up?"

Rikku smiled back, still worried. "Maybe nothing. Probably just me being whatever. But, uh ... do you still have the teleport-thing that got us to Valentine's world?"

Will nodded, her face taking on a more expression.

"I always do. I'd have to go through Candracar, that big sparkly white place, to get there, though."

Robin heard the music from the hall and came to see who it was. He didn't recognize it. "Hello?"

Finally!

Will looked up from where she was working on her box.

There was a frog at her door.

There was a talking frog at her door.

And wide grin, and a gleeful "Eeeeee, froggie!" was all that she was able to get out at first.

Yay!!

Okay, of all the responses he'd gotten to people meeting him for the first time? This one was the best, one, ever.

"Hi!" Robin giggled.

"Hi!" Will replied. There was a talking frog in her room saying hi to her. This was possibly the best day of her life ever.

Well, the best day ever was probably her 10th birthday, when her parents were still happy together, and she'd gotten ride a pony, and received a bike as a birthday present, but this was pretty close to it.

She kneeled on the floor to be closer to the forggie. "What are you doing here, little guy?" she asked.
