Will's assigned little brother hadn't showed up yesterday, and she still hadn't heard the name Kurt mentioned anywhere yet. Part of her was getting worried. Did he get lost? Was he not coming? Did the evil locker eat him

Rikku's conversation yesterday with AJ reminded her: where was Valentine? She'd been too distracted by classes and everything else going on, and he was bound to turn up sooner or later, except he kinda hadn't. Not good.
She'd paid a quick handwavey visit to her little sib, just to be sure. Nope, Valentine hadn't been back to the room.
Maybe he really was racking up some good money juggling. But something felt weird.
Chewing her lip, Rikku stopped in Will's doorway. "Uh, hiya. Do you have a second?"
Rikku smiled back, still worried. "Maybe nothing. Probably just me being whatever. But, uh ... do you still have the teleport-thing that got us to Valentine's world?"
"Oh." She scratched her head, thinking. "It's ... if that's a big pain or whatever, it's okay. It's just, uh ..."
Rikku stepped a little more into the room, shivering. "Did you know he's not back yet? I mean, he said he was coming back Monday, like, the next day Monday, and ... I mean, he made some joke about juggling for a bit, but he had classes and all that and ... I mean, what if he's stuck?"
"It's not that much of a pain," Will said. She stretched out her hand, and the Heart of Candracar floated out of it.
She frowned at Rikku's news. "I knew that I hadn't seen him around yet, but I didn't know that he hadn't come back at all from his world. I really hope that nothing happened to him."
"I just thought I hadn't seen him, but this one girl was looking for him and seemed kinda upset? So I asked Gavin, his roommate, and he said the bed's just ... like, not been slept in or anything." Rikku shook her head quickly. "Something ... something feels wrong, you know?"
"Yeah. I mean ... he wouldn't forget this long, yeah? And ..." She bit her lip. "Someone would've heard."
Rikku looked at the crystal and then at Will again. "Just like that? You don't mind? I mean, it's not gonna ... like, drain your magic for the day or anything, is it?"
Will shook her head. "Nope. I think there's an endless supply of energy in here. I might get stared at a bit for bringing outsiders into Candracar, but we wouldn't be there very long."
"Is it, uh, better if I don't go? 'Cause I can stay behind if that helps." Rikku bounced a little on her toes. "And, uh, thanks, 'cause I didn't know how to get there, and Pops' airship is back home anyway."
Will focused her energy on the power of the crystal and let it flow through her. A beam of light shot out of it, wrapping the pair up in a pillar of pure energy. There was a tingling feeling, before they touched down on the marble floors of Candracar.
Will took a step backwards and took a deep breath, trying to prepare herself for another jump.
Will nodded. "Yeah. This place is right at the middle of the universe, so it's easier to get there from here. So long as nobody catches us and chews us out, anyway." She looked at Rikku. "Are you ready?"

"I always do. I'd have to go through Candracar, that big sparkly white place, to get there, though."
