After being cooped up for far too long Tom is outside quite literally poking around.  He doesn't really have a plan or a destination in mind, he's just content to be out of the mansion and exploring.  He walks along, humming a tuneless song, walking on top of logs if they happen to come in his path, and looking for animals that might warrant ( Read more... )

Cimorene is taking a walk, still not really sure what she wants to do with herself now that she's accepted she's not leaving the Mansion any time soon. His humming and leaping draws her attention, and she raises an eyebrow at it, bemused.

"Well, I'm going this direction," she indicated the way to Sir Percy's house, "so you can walk that way if you like. Or not." She doesn't bother to counter that he does hop. She knows he does, whether or not he wants to deny it.

He shrugged again and turned in the direction of the point. "I don't see why not. There's nothing better to do."

"I thought you were looking for game." She started walking, though a little slower than him, as she's taller. "Or were you just being outdoors for its own sake?"

Tom is glad that she's going slowly and he's trying his hardest not to be jealous of her height. "I just like being in the wild, I suppose. And what are you doing out here, miss?"

"Going to return a favor." She indicates the basket she's carrying. "If he's home, that is - it's a bit of a surprise. And you can stop "miss"-ing me. I have a name for a reason."

"That's nice of you. I'm afraid I can't cook at all." However, he didn't seem too upset over his lack of culinary skills.

"I can't much. Daddy stopped the lessons before I got very far."

"Why? Aren't ladies supposed to know how to cook?"

"Not..." Oh, fine, she was just going to have to say it. "Princesses aren't."

Tom blinked. "Oh. I suppose that must be very nice." He had already met a few gods so a princess was still interesting, but not quite as shocking as she might have been.

She snorted. "It's boring as hell, actually."

"Why?"
