This story made me LOL very hard, because you see, I married that man. He can handle all kinds of frightening medical situations with aplomb. He came home one day and told me that there was a bit of excitement at work that day. Turns out there was a gun battle in the Health Center parking lot while he was out there. But spiders?!!! No! No! No! No! That's what he has me for. And he is the same kind of sheepish afterward. Damned if every last one of our four kids doesn't feel the same way. I drive them all crazy by refusing to kill it, and insisting on taking the wee thing outside and releasing it. They've started vacuuming them up instead. Surprisingly, they don't seem to crawl back out again later.

Anyway, this fic was a very accurate little slice of my life (well except that I haven't been heavily pregnant for quite some time now). Very realistic!
