"I guess there is?" Clint said uncertainly. Sure, there were people from worlds like his, but he'd never brushed up against the timeline thing quite like this before. "Do we, uh, work together?" God, he hoped the other version of him wasn't dating her, or he'd get a reputation in every universe.

"Not officially or anything," Kate said. Because she was a teenager and some people not Clint had big sticks up their butt about that still. "Just don't try to steal your bow back again. It's still mine now, and we've already done that."

Alec chose to interpret that in the absolute least relevant way, and turned to Clint. "Don't tell me you use a longbow too."

"Excellent use of logic there, Ha - Clint," Kate decided. And then because she was awesomely good about not using codenames really, she offered him her bow. "Your turn to shoot."

"I thought this was just going to be between the two of you," Clint said, but he took the bow anyway. "Are you sure?"

"Apparently you're the best," Alec said mildly, offering Clint a small grin. "I mean, if you can beat what she just did..."

Yeah, Kate really did know Clint, because there was no way he was turning down an offer to show off. He took five of the arrows, got into place, and quickly fired them one after another into a tight cluster at the center of the bullseye.

"Yeah, this is a good bow," he said, smirking.

"I..." Wow. Alec blinked rapidly and yep, the arrows were all still right there in the center? "Are you that good when you're moving? I don't... huh."

Yeah, he was a little bit speechless. Kate had not oversold this guy.

"Yeah, I am," Clint said, because there wasn't much point in lying. "I should point out that I started doing this when I was younger than you are, and I'm twice your age, so I've had pretty much your entire lifetime of practice." Way to make yourself feel old, Clint. "It's the one thing I'm good at."

She looked at Alec. "Clearly that's about the last part."

"I can... see why you're friends," Alec said slowly, grinning faintly as he looked from one of them to the other. "Or why... you're friends with him, I guess."

Clint hesitated for a second, to fake her out in return for that attitude, but he handed the bow over nonetheless. "Don't get cranky just 'cause I outshot you," he said. "I'm starting to think I need friends my own age."

Kate smirked over at Alec as she took her bow back. "Please, old man, like you said, you've been practicing longer than we've been alive."

And seriously, he was an Avenger. He had plenty of friends his own age.
