This & That - The November-December edition

Am slightly miffed because the adorable little microwave potholders left over from the Bazaar (end of October)sold before I could free up the money to buy them myself. They would have made cute stocking stuffers.

My elder sister oddyssia's husband died suddenly the weekend before Thanksgiving -- heart attack/stroke. He was a large man, with health ( Read more... )

Condolences to your sister and you on the loss of your brother in law. ):

That e-mail scam has been around for quite awhile, hopefully none of your friends were suckered in.

I've been trying to get our cat to try something other than Purina, but she is incredibly stubborn! So far at least she has had no health problems related to diet.

I'm sending something I hope you will find amusing, I got a a kick out of it.

Sorry I've not been replying to comments, things have been hectic and time has run out on me...

Thanks, I'll pass along the condolences.... Lynn & Mike didn't have any children, just three/four kitties: George, Agatha, Lexie and Orange Puff (Puff is a stray who occasionally deigns to grace the threshold when the weather is nasty --gorgeous long fur!).

The odd part about the Hacker is that about two years ago they hacked my sister, same message/scam. Funny thing, if it had been a message about my Mom or my cat-show judge sister, it would have been barely plausible, them being the world travelers of the family.

I will PM my address.

Awww, sad hugs for Lynn... :(

That particular hack is common as dirt, and used to be a lot more common. It's just script kiddie stuff, not serious hacking.

Might be 'kiddie stuff', but it still deleted the contact lists and e-mails....such a hassle re-building the church address book.

What problems were you having with Purina? BTW it's not just Purina, it's a large chunk of the industry that uses animal fat. (Which is unfortunate because it's a better fat for dogs than chicken fat ( ... )

We personally hadn't problems with the Purina (Fit & Trim) other than occasionally having trouble finding the larger size bags, and both the fur hooligans ate it easily enough. Then last week dragondancer515 re-posted a warning about Purina, which I read and was appalled.

Even though it looks very much like a regional quality control problem as most reports seem to generate from the East Coast and South, I decided it might be time to look at other possibilities. Kent and I did some on-line research, and queried at the local pet food retailers. We liked what we heard /read about BLUE Buffalo and decided to give it shot.

So far so good.

Fit & Trim is a low-fat dog food. See above ( ... )
