Am slightly miffed because the adorable little microwave potholders left over from the Bazaar (end of October)sold before I could free up the money to buy them myself. They would have made cute stocking stuffers.
My elder sister
oddyssia's husband died suddenly the weekend before Thanksgiving -- heart attack/stroke. He was a large man, with health problems and older than Elder Sis, but as she said, she always thought they'd have more time together. She and Mike had been very active in the Society for Creative Anachronisms' northern Illinois chapters many years ago, as well as local anime societies in the Chicago area holding. He liked to collect odd collectible card games and sets, read voraciously (science fiction, fantasy, cyberpunk, mysteries, detective/noir, political thrillers, historical fiction), enjoyed word puzzles and cross-stitch embroidery, and collected railroad paraphernalia. Mike could be a difficult person to be around, but
oddyssia loved him. They were married for slightly over 33 years.
*HUGS my SISTER*
Over Thanksgiving weekend, the church e-mail was hacked. The Rotten Blighters sent out spam message about how I was stranded in Edinburgh, Scotland sans passport, luggage or money and needed help in getting home! No sooner did we have THAT straightened out (lost the church's e-mail address book and all the saved e-mails!) when the same RBs hacked pastor's personal e-mail.... We laugh about it now, but it was a real pain at the time!
Thanks to
dragondancer515's post about the horrible quality control issues that PURINA has had lately, we have switched dog foods (not that we'd seen anything "off" with the Fit & Trim, but since the bag was almost empty anyway....). Finicky Chows apparently like the taste of BLUE Buffalo's Chicken & Brown Rice formula, plus it's 100% made in America (whoa! 'Bandit Keith' flashback from YGO Abridged!)
I keep thinking that it's further along in the month than it is -- except it really is -- only two weeks until Christmas!!!!
I really must tend to my knitting - who knows what trouble it may get into without me!
