The Misadventures of Juror #112
I am undoubtedly, the WORST. JUROR. EVER! x_0; Everything was going fine, I didn't set off the metal detector upon goin' into the building or anything, went into the Juror's lounge, got my little i.d. thing, all was well. Sat and waited very impatiently for what seemed like forever before all the jurors were give the 'speech' and then led away like sheep to the slaughter to be sworn in. Back to lounge, another wait, and then a bunch of random juror's numbers are called. Lucky me, mine was picked. x_0; Went into the courtroom, judge told us about the case, yadda, yadda, yadda (stuff I can't discuss), then the juror's for that trial were being chosen at random by a very 'Bingo-ish' thingamajig.
After what seemed like forever AGAIN, we dismissed for lunch and due to return to the juror's lounge for 1400 where we were to be called over the intercom and brought to the courtroom again. I met my Uncle for lunch, since the building he works at is literally right down the street, then got back to the juror's lounge with plenty of time to spare. Or so I thought.
A lot of people had left for lunch, so only a few remained in the 3-room lounge. I had twenty minutes to spare, so I decided to take a short nap. Unfortunately, I hadn't even realized I'd fallen asleep, and when I woke up and checked my watch was startled to find that it was 1420 and no one was around. Crap.
Come to find out, the group I was with had already been called over the intercom to return to the courtroom, and I'd been left behind. x_0; Yikes. No one was nice enough to wake me up. Bastards.
I waited in the lounge a while longer, sweating it out, until one of the dudes that tells everyone to do came in and said that those of us still in the lounge could leave for the day. So....I left. *shrugs*
I jus' hope I don't get in trouble for it tomorrow. Yikes. x_0;
