Bonekickers

I followed the advice of those who told me to watch the BBC Flagship Archaeological Drama Bonekickers. The title makes me think "I ain't saying she a gold-digger, but she ain't messin' with no bonekickers." Sorry, Kanye.

I watched the episode on the iPlayer which was about Slavery and it was amazing. ( I would not want to spoiler you for such fantastic television. )

bonekickers, telly

SEE??? I TOLD YOU!! It's FUCKING AWESOME!! I have no words for this show and how awful it is. I cannot even begin to describe it, it's like there is a void in my vocabulary. What I loved about this particular one was that AWFUL FEELING OF DREAD that came up in the pit of your stomach when Gillian was drugged in the car and she saw liek blacke people doing some sort of tribal dance thing in front of the windscreen and for a brief fleeting moment you're sitting there, watching, and thinking OH MY GOD THEY'RE GOING TO GO WITH SOME SORT OF VOODOO ANGLE like in that James Bond film and oh shit please don't go there, it's bad enough already... And then the feeling of relief when they didn't go there, but you knew in your heart that they easily could have done and maybe they even considered it but then discarded the idea.

AWESOME TELEVISION OF AWESOME.

"But only after doing a tribal dance over an archeological dig."

Maybe it was the Traditional Victory Dance of the Archaeology Academic.

Also, that's the most ridiculous conspiracy theory ever.

The idea that there would be "centuries of people being murdered in case people found out that black people fought in the American War Of Independence" is so spectacularly ridiculous I don't even know what to say. In that case, the conspiracy maybe should have considered doing something about that plaque downtown dedicated to Crispus Attucks and the victims of the Boston Massacre? Right next to the Old State House, visited by every tourist who comes to Boston? Who apparently must all be dead now.

I must track this down via YouTube or something. It sounds colossally bad.

Well, it's nice to see the England can be as stupid about American history as the U.S. can be about the rest of the world. I guess.

Worst conspiracy ever. Their secret is as secret as Torchwood.
