Bonekickers

Jul 22, 2008 15:19

I followed the advice of those who told me to watch the BBC Flagship Archaeological Drama Bonekickers. The title makes me think "I ain't saying she a gold-digger, but she ain't messin' with no bonekickers." Sorry, Kanye.

I watched the episode on the iPlayer which was about Slavery and it was amazing. ( I would not want to spoiler you for such fantastic television. )

bonekickers, telly

My sister was watching it on iPlayer, and I was involuntarily listening to it and shouting at it. It was great. In that way that a radio play being written on crack is great.

She threaened to smother me with cushions, eventually.

Hi Sorry I stumbled across this when I was looking on a friends page. I'm so glad I found someone else who has watched this. Is is just so bad it's awesome. I feel really bad for liking this as I'm an archaeology student when they pulled the perferctly intact metal chains out with no difficulty I laughed so hard. What did you think of the first one with the cross? I'm with you on excaliber as well. Also I don't know if you watch Doctor Who but for now I've made it my canon that River Song is like Proffesor Gillian Magwilde.

There's a comm: bone_kickers.

I still haven't worked out if it's so-bad-it's-good or just BAD.

Since just yesterday I ran across A Bonepicker's take on "Bonekickers" I thought I might as well pass it along to you.

It makes me sad because Matthew Graham and Ashley Pharoah can do so much better.

(See: 'Life on Mars'/'Ashes to Ashes')

Well, "Life on Mars", anyway.

Actually, look at this:

"Life on Mars": Matthew Graham, Ashley Pharoah, Tony Jordan: brilliant

"Ashes to Ashes": Matthew Graham, Ashley Pharoah: shit

"Bonekickers": Matthew Graham, Ashley Pharoah: shit

What's different about the odd one out?

I gave up as soon as they let Jesus' cross burn.

I'm not religious by any means, but that was just ludicrous that they'd let an artifact like THAT burn.

I'm not a God-botherer. Honest. But it just seemed stupid to me.

In my version of the drinking game you have to drink every time any single detail in this car crash of a programme makes you think But That's Stupid before you realise that hang on, of course it is, this whole thing is awful arse. By the crossburning I was laughing too hard to criticise.

Doesn't that have a similar efect to the Withnail & I game? Where you die from alcohol poisoning halfway through?
