Let's talk about superheroes in cartoons. What are your favourite superhero animations? Or least favourite? Any favourite scenes or other superhero animation stuff that you want to talk about?

One of me definite favorites is Brave&the Bold.
It´s just awesome.
Favorite moment?
The Aquaman&Atom moments in "Journey to the center of bat"

other animated series I watched were Ironman (but somehow I never really connected the animated series to the Marvel superhero) and Darkwing Duck. I don´t know if that would count as a traditional superhero series, but to me it is.

The DCAU: Batman The Animated Series, Superman The Animated Series, Justice League and Static Shock really set the standard.

Brave and The Bold is just *fun*.

I like the old Max Fleischer Superman cartoons too.

I liked what I saw of the more recent Fantastic Four cartoon, but they kept playing musical-chairs with the scheduling and I think I only saw four or five episodes.

I like Brave and the Bold because I could watch it with my much younger brother and we could both enjoy it. That, and I think I could make him a Blue Beetle fan with my TPBs.

>Justice League and JLU are my absolute favourite out of superhero cartoons
I wouldn't go so far as to call them my favorites, but I feel they've set a standard that really hasn't been reached lately.

ooooh, someone mentioned the old Fleischer Superman cartoons. My mom used to buy those on VHS for like, two dollars because of their move to public domain. I'm definitely fond of those, they were the first exposure I had to superheroes that I remember.

Now that I think back on it, the X-Men cartoon wasn't that good, but it was totally rad when I was five/six and it made me looooooove Beast. I didn't watch X-Men: Evolution though.

I love the Hellboy animated movies. It helps that they had Ron Perlman and company doing the voices. And they included Kate Corrigan which is my favorite BPRD character.

I was also weary of Batman: the Brave and the Bold. Specially when I heard Aquaman showed up eventually. Now it's one of my favorite versions. I also love the DCAU. Best Joker ever. Batman Beyond is fantastic too.

There's another discussion forum/board where I talk about comics, and we've sort of decided - the Cadmus arc is the perfect 10 which any other cartoon has to be compared to (the Green Goblin reveal on Spectacular Spider-Man is the closest so far at a 9). The DCAU is just so perfect because all they try to do is tell good stories that anyone can watch ( ... )

"...the animation is kinda crappy and it's way too melodramatic."

I dunno, that's pretty much the X-Men right there. Granted, I could never watch that series without nostalgia goggles anymore, but episodes I've seen recently are still fun despite their shortcomings.

And it prolly has the second-most iconic theme song of any superhero cartoon ever!

Well, except that the Xavier/Logan relationship in W&tXM was nowhere near as slashy as that in Evolution, and traitorous.Rogue was nowhere near the perfect hotness that was goth.Rogue.
