WIP Excerpt #3 and #4

Here are the third and fourth excerpts for the UST WiP meme, in which I give Ray Kowalski cancer (sob!) and then Duck and Dan from Wilby Wonderful make with the hot monkey sex. (You can find the earlier excerpts here, if you have a hankering for a bit of a dS Western AU, or an angsty Fraser/Kowalski scene).

Both of these broke my heart. I really, really want to read the rest of the Duck/Dan story. I hope you get done for the big bang thing.

I think it's pretty much in the bag, so to speak. I'm definitely going to do my best to get done for Big Bang, if not before. I love Duck/Dan so much, Kite! They are my happy place.

Of course, I did none of these things. Robert Fraser’s son gave no quarter to anger or affection, or need.

Feelings, I’d discovered, were a bit like hungry animals. They went away if you were patient and willing to wait them out.

Okay, if the first one hadn't gutted me, the second one would have.

He’d barely ever kissed anyone, other than Val, and he wondered if Duck had, if he’d ever had a boyfriend or a lover. If he’d ever made love to someone who knew his first name, who called him “Walter.”

So sad and sweet, and a dazzling look inside of Dan's head.

I want both of these. Soon. Please.

And thanks! I'm glad you liked the characterization of Dan in that bit - it's a loooong fic, and I did have to do a lot of poking and prodding at him to figure out what was in that complicated noggin.
