At the close of one of the most productive days in recent history I come bearing fic recs

Feb 21, 2007 23:53

I was a machine today. I went for an hour-long jog along the harbourfront this morning, because after reading jamethiel_bane's very brave and honest and insightful post about dealing with depression I thought, y'know what? Time to take action. So...jogging. And hopefully swimming on Friday mornings at the rec centre before my shift, and yoga in the evenings, and ( Read more... )

ds recs, real life stuff

... I just looked at the other comments to this post and I suddenly feel like I'm onstage in my knickers and I've forgotten all my lines.

Sorry, just catching up on LJ stuff now... nos4a2no9 February 24 2007, 01:59:28 UTC
No worries! It is already far, far better than even my biased rec would have people believe. And it's just getting better-er :-) So don't get stagefright - everyone will love it!

Finally, two older Seekrit Santa recs from waaaaaay back in December: j_s_cavalcante's Duet, With Brief Interlude for Trio

How much do I love you for reccing that story? SO much! I thought only about five people had read it. *appreciates you enormously*

What? Only five people? That is unacceptable! Because your "Duet" has GOT to be one of the best F/V/K fics out there. When I re-read it a few days ago I wanted to make a huge, epic post about its greatness. Which I think I must do now, because clearly more people need to be exposed to this story. It's so...mature. And sexy. And if I weren't sleep-deprived I'd be able to say this much more coherently, but for me it really encapsulates the relationship between those three guys in a way no other fic really has.

...and I realize now I need to send you a big giant thinky FB email about this.

*hugs the stuffing out of you*

Thanks so much. Oh, my God, you made my week. Because it's hard to write 21,000 words and then have to accept that almost no one has read them.

Mature and sexy: that's exactly the effect I intended for this story, and I worked my ass off writing it for Sage, not only because I adore her fic in general, but because she wrote the best most wonderful HCL fic out there...for me. It was not only a fantastic, redemptive HCL story, it was also a multimedia experience! She made a soundtrack and an album cover for it! (It's on hcl_fic with a bunch of other wonderful HCL fics. Which, again, not a lot of people have read! *cries ( ... )

And I just sent a big long rambly email in which I gush shamelessly about the greatness of "Duet With..."

Your DSSS fic was a perfect Christmas present! And when I went back today and saw that you hadn't gotten an overwhelming amount of comments I was shocked. Beause really? You deserve much more. That's a very special little fic. (Plus, did I mention Fraser cuddling the baby? I am dead from the cuteness).

And you'll *love* the House story. ignazwisdom is some kind of evil supergenius!

i just got a food processor too. much excitement. i'm trying to decide now between a blender or an immersion blender. i'll probably go with immersion as our kitchen is tiny and i'm running out of room.

Yeah, the only downside on the processor is its sheer size. Our kitchen cabinets are really shallow so I had to do a bunch of shifting around to make the darn thing fit. But an immersion blender gets the job done and it allows you a little more freedom than the regular blender. I hope that helps you reconcile the purchase a little :-)
