This is so wonderfully bittersweet. I have seen several fics that tackle this in between time of the film and I have to say that this is by far my favorite. Very well crafted. If you have anymore in this vein, I would love to read it.

Thank you! I don't have any more specifically Spock-centric pieces, but I hope to write more. For something that's similar in tone although different character focus, you might like Somatosensory.

thank you; while the movie I think gave Spock quite a bit of reason to respect Jim's raw ability and determination, I found myself wanting to see them interact a little bit more without the high drama, find a little more actual commonality.

And also to get Spock some. ;) I really, really want to write that romance happening but I keep having a hard time envisioning how that opening up comes to be. Hope springs, though, I keep my file of "oh, I bet that's how that happened" for them when I have an occasional bright thought.

I'm an absolute sucker for movie missing scenes, and this is one of the best I've read. Seeing Spock being solicitous toward his colleagues, and welcoming of Uhura, goes a long way to correct movie!Spock who, while understandably pushed to his limits, at times seemed cold to the point of being pathological. The mutual apology is also something I always pine for. Sigh. Will you write the next movie script?

I can! ~preens~ Except I don't know that the box office would be as good for an NC-17 release, and I don't know how Chris Pine feels about full frontal. Although I guess we know how Karl Urban feels about blowjobs after the mic incident...ok, yes, you were being beautifully complimentary about my writing skills and I have no idea how to take a compliment like a human being, so ( ... )
