Today was so long. Ever have one of those days were you feel like you never fully woke up? I had my morning coffee and breakfast but I was SO tired. I didn't even stay up late or anything, my body was simply not co-operating. At school I was in a shitty mood and felt really anxious. I usually feel anxious whenever I think about what I'm doing in ( Read more... )

I almost always tip twenty percent unless the service is horrible. I figure if someone is so fucking broke they can't tip, they should stay home and eat baloney sandwiches. I don't go out to eat to save money.

That said, some waiters are fucking clueless. This one time I went to an Indian place where they not only forgot to bring us plates (all the food is brought out in family style bowls) but they also forgot WATER until we reminded them. And this was spicy food. That jackass still got, like, 12% because I would never not tip.

I do tend to sit around longer than I should a lot of times, though. So I apologize for that.

Ah yes, drinks are super vital, most people flip over not having anything to drink, and reasonably so. The whole sitting around thing like I said is annoying to servers for various reasons, or scenarios ( ... )

I have years of waiting tables experience. I couldn't do it anymore because even though the money was good, really good actually, it was so much stress. I would have nightmares after bad nights quite often of never being able to get a table's drink order.

One tip I have from experience with terrible customers who get nasty with you (because it happens ever so rarely) is to get nicer, and nicer with them even if you're hardcore faking it, which we know you are.

That and blame the kitchen if you forget to ring up and order, or if anything goes wrong.. but I'm sure you caught on to that one rather quickly.

Yeah I learned to blame the kitchen the second I fucked up. It was the natural liar in me. I actually don't have a stress issue with it, only during my shift when it's crazy but after? shit I could care less if there was a pube in some girl's pasta and she broke down crying.

I'm going to hopefully start bartending at the place I used to work at, where I still serve on fridays but make no money because people mostly go drink and not eat. So if that happens and I can have at least 2 shifts and make approx $400 then I'll just have one or two days at CPK at most. That place is a little too much for me, I've worked a lot less for more money than I make there and the tip out is ridiculous.
