1. Comment with "the odds are ever in your favor." 2. I will give you a letter. 3. Post the names of five fictional characters and your thoughts on each.
Oh, I so totally agree about Astrid. I didn't watch the second half of this season of Fringe (something about the AU plot was rubbing me wrong, so I decided to hold off and maybe watch it all at once instead of week to week), but I love Astrid and want to see her get more story than she gets.
Agreed on Anna and Adam as well.
And you bring up interesting points about Ava. I liked her from the beginning, but I REALLY started liking her in that scene in her bedroom when you realize that she does know that she killed a man and that it does affect her, in spite of her bravado (I believe it's right before they're shot at). I've said it before, but I love how this season, Ava and Winona seem to have swapped places, and a little part of me wonders if it's involvement with Raylan that messes these women up. (There's something kind of hot about that idea, though. *g*)

I recently rewatched that scene, and I think that's where she turns it around for me too, and really comes into her own as a complex and interesting character. There is something interesting to the idea that Raylan either is the cause of or perpetuates the personal problems that the women he's with have. I'm not sure if that makes him more attractive, but it does make me think he should really try to sort his shit out before he settles down with Winona or ANY other character for that matter.
I think I'm becoming an actual Raylan/Carol shipper though, cuz I think in no way would she ever put up with his shit and that would probably be kind of good for him.

I'm more inclined to think that it's that Raylan is attracted to these interesting, damaged women. I mean, a lot of these women's troubles (I'm assuming here that Gary sent those hired guns after her in last week's episode - I'm spoiler free so I don't know if that's totally true but that's my bet) predated getting into/restarting a relationship with Raylan.
Ava Crowder - Justified. Surprise, surprise, I start here.
I am shocked, shocked I tell you!
And I found that I had totally forgotten how strong Ava comes on to Raylan in the very beginning. In a way it's like, creepy strong.
Especially considering the bloodstains on the wall and carpet.
I think her character arc through season one was kind of wonderful in its sadness. She pretty much learns that no one is going to come in on a white horse and make her life better. It's her choices that make problems for her and it's her choices that fix them.
Agreed. And if you don't mind me asking further questions, what do you think makes Ava so interesting in the second season?
I also adore Amy Pond. She's fabulous and while I have issues with her marriage I am beyond thrilled that she didn't feel the need to make a romance or adventure choice - she just took her husband with her!
I kind of shipped her with Dean because let's face it, they did have A LOT in common and she's kind of a badass. That sex scene in the Impala is
( ... )
She didn't. And frankly, the writers have NO FUCKING CLUE what to do with the women on their show, even when they mesh perfectly into the world and the narrative arc *cough* Jo and Ellen *cough*.
I will forever be bitter about that death scene. How could you NOT fit o and Ellen in your fucking apocalypse. JEEZ OH MAN KRIPKE!
Friend away! I'm always looking for more Justified friends. I don't talk about Fringe too much here, but lately it's been all Justified all the time. :P

I love Ava, Amy, and Astrid. Especially Astrid. She and Olivia are my two favorite female characters of the show that are currently airing.
Poor Adam. Did he get the shaft or what? Fucking Supernatural universe.
