I just learned something new about the name Malfoy. I remember that J.K. Rowling said a long time ago that the name means "bad faith". But I didn't fully understand what she meant by that. Magnus demonstrated yesterday that he has a meta-linguistic awareness! I was looking in a book with him. We were pointing at pictures, and he was saying the names of the different things in the pictures. All along he was speaking in Norwegian. Today: Had a good laugh in good company at lunch. My packed lunch was a complete disaster: I had two slices of bread in my lunch box, one with cucumber and one with the Norwegian speciality "brown cheese" - a very sticky, sweet and fugdy tyoe of cheese. Happy new year, everyone!
I have a feeling that 2008 is going to be a super year!

I have watched an amazing fireworks display. So did Magnus, and he had to use the words that he knows to describe it, so he said eeeee, bang, ball and tadpole. Some of the fireworks did indeed look like tadpoles and others like balls.

Sorry I have neglected my happiness diary. I have been really busy with my theatre show "The wind on the moon" by Eric Linklater, with the children. It went really well! 28th of October - Woke up at ten (!!!) to the sound of Magnus playing in his bed and saying "mama? mama?" Took him through to our bed and played there and looked at a book where there was a picture of a cherub - Magnus pointed to it and said "Magnus!" and I completely agreed with him!

Happiness diary October 23rd: Walked by an old, beutiful Art Noveau (how do you spell that?) building which has been derelict for years. It has now been restored and brought back to life again. The ligts were on and the building was looking like it was ALIVE again once more.

This is a project inspired by Luna Lovegood: To write down in this journal lots of little, everyday things that make me happy.

Happiness is to have to e-mail my colleagues to say that I wouldn't be at lunch today, or else they would have missed me and wondered where I was.
