Today I saw a bird trapped in the mall. It was playing with water in the fountain. It kept flying above me. I wondered if anyone else really noticed. A few people heard it chirping, but dismissed the noise. It'll probably live off subway crumbs for the rest of its life/ or I can imagine security and store workers desperately trying to catch it.

Most of the time when birds get trapped indoors they panic. I usually think they are right to do so- the indoors must be like a life vaccum to something used to being able to fly where it wants.

I kept thinking about it last night. My mom asked me why I didnt tell security that I'd seen it. I guess I want to indulge my metaphor.
