While some people may think that such things might happen for a reason, others may not think such nonsense and instead think of ways around the issue (while not necessarily neglecting educational duties, of course). Perhaps she has time available before or after her talk in which you can meet? While truth-be-told I'm not her biggest fan, she seems like the type who would understand your situation.

I'm sure she is busy, and it's not her responsibility to make time to meet with me; nor, in fact, is it mine, as I am also quite busy. I would have liked to hear her presentation. I am not looking for an autograph.
