You bit the bullet I see, and did a real drabble-on. It's wonderful. I love how you first do their thoughts and then show how they distill them into what they say out loud. It's a wonderful process for each person. Martha's made me smile, Jonathan's made me laugh, Clark's was both sad and sweet, and Lex's made my heart both hurt and hope. Lovely, just lovely. A wonderful addition to thanksgiving.
Is that the official name for this sort of thing? You know me, I just call it cheating :D I didn't mean to, I planned to leave it at just a section for each character, but at 11:30pm on deadline night it occurred to me that maybe it needed a bit of introduction to set the scene. I'm glad it worked; I finished it very, very close to the wire and was anxious it was too unpolished.
What a wonderful treat for American thanksgiving (Canadian thanksgiving is a month earlier and not nearly as big a deal). Jonathan's thoughts were particularly funny - I love that he was grateful for his shotgun = freedom - so American!
This is not the first time I've had Jonathan look at the way Lex looks at Clark, and think about his shotgun - and it probably won't be the last, unfortunately :) I'm glad you enjoyed.
I <3 you so much. Just so you know. The boys being shooed and Jonathon's shotgun.
But most especially? Lex's hope. And this. Clark talks of friendship, looks at him with wonder. In the show, this totally goes in reverse as well. *loves*

I didn't realize you wrote it so close to the deadline. Wow! Nicely done.

It does happen in reverse, and too damn often I say. There is not enough starry-eyed gazing at Lex. On the proper side of the screen, that is.
