Somebody Pinch Me.... Am I Just Dreaming This??

First... Brown Wins Ted Kennedy's Massachusetts Senate seat (why Ted kept getting re-elected is BEYOND me, but this is truly an awesome event & the timing couldn't be better).

THEN Jim Webb states this:

In many ways the campaign in Massachusetts became a referendum not only on health care reform but also on the openness and integrity of our ( Read more... )

I don't really know him personally at all, but i appreciate his perspective on this. Frankly, he's right... So, i'm thankful he was big enough to make that statement.

We're very different in our views... but it's nice to know that you weren't happy about the current legislation either. :P

I'm going to refrain from any sort of rejoicing until the sham that is "health care reform" is dead. There are still too many uncertain variables (in my mind) to permit me to relax just yet

Oh, i'm not really rejoicing per-say. I am happy about this. But more than anything I'm shocked.... (i guess I did say "overjoyed", but it wasn't really that accurate for how i'm actually feeling.. .)

And honestly? very little has happened to give me hope for this country...and while this doesn't "fix things" it does give me a tiny bit of hope.

Guard is definitely still UP, though. ;)

Ugh, really?

I mean, do we really think the Conservatives did such a wonderful upstanding job in the last 8 years? Seriously? Was that just a bad dream?

I would like to see more independents and more balance of both sides. Fair representations of all sides on all issues, to me that is the only true Democracy, which is what this land was supposed to be.

I love that an Independent candidate won. I was driving through Mass. on Monday, the day before the elections, the commercials for the Candidates were crazy. His were the only one's that seemed to get to the point an deal with the issues and not the bullshit of most elections ( ... )

First let me say that I have no love for the previous administration. The people i supported in the last election were NOT republicans OR democrats. There's a reason for that... And i feel that both parties have gone off the deep end in many ways ( ... )

These are my thoughts/opinions/ideas. I like that you were willing to share yours and that you feel comfortable doing so. We've already discussed at length how i feel about respect and others' opinions. i think we're good there. ;)

I'm a little sad that Coakley didn't win, however, I almost didn't vote for her based on how she campaigned. She fought dirty, and it was neither helpful nor attractive. I just wasn't impressed with Brown overall. I was a Ted Kennedy fan and I feel like this was a bit of a slap in his face.

However!

I AM willing to give him a shot. I'm a moderate (leaning toward the left), but I will give anyone the benefit of the doubt. I sure hope he does some good for my state.
