Realizing that I am in a deeply cynical mood, I'm going to post anyway instead of going back to bed and waking up when there's more than eight hours of sun light in the day. given that Wiccan groups are entirely made up of humans, isn't there about a 50-50 chance that any given group is deeply dysfunctional?
Oh, dear. If people comply with your request, it will get verse before it gets better. ;-D
Also, you wrote: Reconstructionists tend to have a very hard time dealing with the wiccan/neo-pagan community, and this is probably the source of my prejudice.
As a chaos mage, Wiccans and ceremonials have a very hard time dealing with me (mostly, they try to avoid me). I'm not sure if this may have value for your experience, but I submit that you are not prejudiced so much as unschooled in the semantics. I want to say that you just don't know the language, but that's a bad analogy right from the start. From the rest of your writing, though, I think I can count on you understanding my drift.
Poke around the archives of f_m_p_p_h_trads and witch_trads. There's not a whole lot of content in either community (they're slow), but it might give you a way to approach learning the terminology--and some insight to what the "neopagan wiccanesque" community thinks of as annoying and "fluffy."
And, 'cos you asked for verse... (shared w/permission) Guide To NeoPagans Song, to the tune of "Swing on a Star"
Would you like to dance in the night? Drum and chant all in the moonlight? Learn to see with your second sight? Or would you rather be a Wiccan?
A Wiccan is a Pagan who can draw down the moon; They do this at midnight, not at noon. They meet in circles and invoke the Goddess They're often naked so they can't be modest; So if a womb you want to quicken, You may decide to be a Wiccan.
Or would you like to dance in the night? Drum and chant all in the moonlight? Learn to see with your second sight? Or would you rather be a Druid?A Druid is a Pagan of the old Celtic folk

It is possible to find a non-fluffy group, that is also non-judgmental. I am in an excellent Celtic Wicca circle. We pay attention to quality of the reading materials we use. We look to the mythology often and scholarly history and anthropology books, for inspiration. And we interview prospective new members to weed out those with wild claims.
