I've recently seen reference to something called the plastic shaman. While this is a new term to me, the concept is not new. In the neopagan world there is something called the "fluffy pagan". If you had to give a group the highlights of "pagan history" in about 3 hours, how would you organize it and what would you be sure to include? Would you explore the possible beginnings of religion, skip to classical civilizations, or emphasize the Neopagan movement in all its, ummm, glory ( Read more... )

This is something that I have having a bigger and bigger problem with as times goes on. I really don't understand the obsession with the distant past that is within modern Paganism. When I started out it all made sense, it was a nature based religion and it worshipped old gods and therefore the past was important, ancient monuments were important ( Read more... )
