I had a fabulous conversation last night with a dear old friend who is coming to visit next week. It is driving my overall April Excitement into over-drive!!! She and her family, husband and two kids, are going to occupy my guesthouse and have their first New Orleans family experience. WHAT FUN!!!! The Caesar Mardi Gras ball is tonight and I am SO excited. I was hoping to get a nap in at some point because this party is supposed to go on until 1 or 2 in the morning and this granny can't handle that! Well, I started this carnival season with a BANG!! Not one, not two, but THREE Twelveth night parties were attended last evening. King Cakes, Fabulous Friends and Neighbors and visiting various homes in the 70119, it was a lovely time all around. New Orleans- We put the FUN in funeral
I saw the obituary last week. A man had died too early, about my age, and his family encouraged his friends to dress in KISS inspired outfits for his memorial service.

Catherine had planned herself a late birthday celebration that Saturday night so we were racing to get back home to attend her party. I heard that the electricity was coming back to parts of my neighborhood, which was another great incentive. I always said "I'm not coming back until the power comes on."
