This makes entirely too much sense. They should have passed like ships in the night, and I don't blame Jason at all for running away. Nicely done.

It just seems right that they should have met. Thank you!

OMG, you like Arcade Fire (looking at music tag)

"As long as the ‘R’ on her breast was out of sight, it wasn’t a torment at all."

Loved that line.

You know, there is such a similarity between these two, and I did feel as if there was some projection on Jason's part. Especially the car line ;-). I loved how well he read her like a book. :-)

Good job!

I picked up Funeral entirely at random a while back and have been transfixed by its gorgeousness. Yay music love!!

I'm glad that line worked, I spent an embarrassing amount of time on it. :)

*grins* My favorite part of getting into character's heads is that they can project whatever they want onto the situation, like overidentification and jealousy and resentment and lust. And Jason has so much of all of that. <3 Thank you so much!

Ooh Jason! Once again, you're spot on with your characterizations - you make these characters come to life in a way they don't quite do so on the DC page. I think you're ability to turn a lovely phrase with with a well timed comment/observation.

Darn it, I knew when I asked for this that you'd make me cry.

Just... oh, *them*. Jason. Honey. You weren't forgotten, I swear, and oh *Steph*.

The line about her accent, his being gone, made me shriek. ROBIN. He's so clearly fascinated by her, worried for her, and *furious* about what she represents.

Baby boy, *honey*, she stepped right into the you-shaped hole in Bruce's universe. He didn't forget you, he learned from you, he just. He misses you so *much*.

Oh, yipes, oh please don't give me Bruce/Steph images. *hides*

Her mouth is the same shape as Talia's. Oh, *eek*.

I just. I want to hug both of them.

And how did you feel when you heard she died, Jason?

Jason is such a lovely broken boy, and he can't see what's right in front of his face. Especially when it involves Robins and Bruce and his own jealousy. And Steph herself is someone he'd get along with so well if they managed to bypass the big bat-shaped issues.

Um. The Bruce/Steph imagery was just sublimated Jason/Bruce? That totally makes it better.

And, dude, Jason on Steph's death... that's a thorny mess. I don't know if it would vindicate Jason or Bruce. Maybe both.

I'm thrilled that you liked this! <3 Thank you!

*beams* Thank you so much!

They're so much fun because they're so similar, except for how they're different, and because they both have that attitude that Dick and Tim never will. *snuggles Even Robins*

I can never decide if Jason and Steph, upon meeting knowing each other's identity, would have kicked each other's asses or made out first. I suspect it would have been a little of both.
