The Malfoy family always intrigues me. I think what was best about this was how much of their inherent pride, more than just the pride of new parents for their child, still shone through.
Lucius is so impatient, but there is a hint of nervousness hidden underneath the false emotion he presents to the outside world, and even to an extent his own family.
Cute, but not sickeningly sweet. Perfect for the characters and the setting.
And then, just plain yay.
I loved the Ollie/Selina. HEE!
That is so messed up I can't even start, but you did it beautifully.
She strolls towards him, rolling her hips in a way he think might actually be a superpower. Something involving hypnotism, he thinks.
*facepalm* Ollie you idiot, and also, of course.
That line really made it for me. Hah. Every time I try to remember that I kind of hate him, it's just I can't, because he's Ollie and he's always doing stupid stuff.
I never seem to tire of exploring the Malfoys, because it's so interesting trying to see the human underneath their beliefs, and reconciling it all. Lucius most interesting of all, as he's the only one who's clearly canonically committed to the Cause, yet is also devoted to his family. I'm glad you liked my take on them!
Just the thought of Ollie and Selena interacting makes me sort of giggle. Because, yes. (Especially as I was picturing them early in their careers.) I actually rather adore Ollie (and all the Arrows, really) and I'm glad this ficlet worked for you. :D
♥ Lots of love straight back to you, because yay awesome comment!
*grins* Their respective relationships with Batman and their own personalities is a heady combination, to be sure. I imagined this was set early in their careers. :) I'm glad you enjoyed it!
