Title: Stolen Moments

She worries, constantly it seems, but Zacharias can’t see why.
“It’s not our war,” he tells her over and over.
“It’s everyone’s war,” she replies, more distraught every time. Frightened by the deaths, terrified by the histories she reads in spare moments.
Her stolen moments are spent with him, even as she frets over what he says (as if words will do anything).
Zacharias would be willing to change for her, but one day she finally smiles and accepts him, loudmouth and all.
That’s the first time he really knows that she loves him the way he loves her.
