Oooh, theatre! Remind me again about "The Women," please - I have a vague idea of what it's about, but I'm not quite sure I have it right. And expand on your own role in it please {g}!

Not going to say "break a leg" yet 'cause it's not quite started, and theatre people are so superstitious ;->

The Women is by Claire Booth Luce, and was written (I think) in the 1930's. (Which means 1930's hair and makeup - lots of curls, takes an hour or so, and lots of RED lipstick!)

The main characters are five friends: Mary, mother of two, sweet women who is done wrong by a floozy who steals her husband; Sylvia, a bitch of the first class who makes sure Mary finds out about her husband straying with the floozy; Peggy, a sweet young woman with more money than her husband; Edith, a perennially pregnant woman who hates kids and loves to spread gossip; and Nancy, a virgin who travels and writes unpopular books. They are joined by a huge cast of women such as the floozie, the countess who can't keep a man, Little Mary - Mary's daughter, various servants etc. It's basically about how these women interact, there are some REALLY funny scenes in it. I have several where I can hear the few people who have been watching laughing like crazy in the audience, so I'm hoping that's a good sign. I play Edith, which is a hoot!

I'm sure you'll be just fine. I'm reprising my role in a Murder Mystery this October and I really must start relearning my script!!!

Have fun and enjoy your experience.
