Surgery

My husband will be having surgery on Tuesday to repair a slight hernia.  Apparently it's fairly common?  They do it as an outpatient, so it can't b too serious.  The problem is that that is also the day that I have to go retrieve our oldest daughter from college.  Not sure how this is going to work as I refuse to leave hubby at home alone.  Bethany ( Read more... )

It must be quite small to be done as an outpatient, but presumably Burt will need an anasthetic which will make him groggy. Best he gets it done early, because those things only get worse - and very painful! Bad timing, though I'm sure Bethany will take good care of Dad.

He's done surprisingly well, no pain pills today at all yet, if only he could get rid of the hiccups that keep afflicting him! It was a small hernia, luckily, only about 1 1/2 inches long, so the incision is really small. Bethany didn't have to do much, just make sure he did his breathing treatments and took his medicine.
