4.04: Time for some thrilling heroics.

Jul 02, 2007 18:31

The Mainframe populace go about their business as usual, if disturbingly cheerfully. The air is filled with cars and zipboards, not CPUs and tanks.

Everything's quiet, more or less.

Of course, given the group that's just coming in from Milliways, that's not liable to last long.

Members: Enzo Matrix, Oracle, Bruck, Kitt Knight, Maid Marian, Hack, Frisket
Objective: Administer the infection cure to as many sprites as possible, starting with the senior command staff of the Principal Office. Hopefully they shouldn't put up too much of a fight, right? ...Right?

The 1 nods. "Y'all heard the lady! Let's move it on out!" The audience binomes cheer again, deploy an assortment of unnecessarily gaudy zipboards, and scatter.

The performer himself bows to Oracle. "Thankyuh, thankyuhverymuch." With that, he exits the stage, hops into a bright pink car hovering by the edge of the island, and soars away.

Well, she's been told how this works, and she's figured out the jet board so that means just getting in and doing her job.

She's good at looking harmless-- she has to do it at home. Most of the times she floats over to one of those smiling people there, taking out her icon, as she pulled out a really big, bemused smile with some confusion.

She asked a question and flashed her badge while they tried to answer.

It wasn't kind, but then neither was what had been done to them.

"Oh my goodness..."

A Zero binome with a beret, a monocle, and a pencil mustache runs up to Marian. "Madam, has anyone ever told you that you are the spitting image of our dear beloved COMMAND.COM? You are perfect for the part of Dot Matrix in my upcoming production The Rise of Daemon. Who's your agent?"

Marian while knowing she is quite pretty-- has met Dot, and might have the same color skin as her now, but is not a lookalike for Dot. This caused her to stare strangely.

"I do not have an agent."

Or know what an agent was aside from being in a combination of things.

Her eyes were looking for the icon spot so she could line up her badge to cure him, even as she raised her eye brows and said, "When is it?"

"No agent? Ah, I getcha, new talent trying to make the big leagues, right? Well, this is your lucky cycle, because filming starts at 2200 and I can sign you a contract right now, whaddaya say?"

Marian blinked balefully at the creature, as she didn't understand half the conversation and opted for asking straight out.

Holding up her icon, with a little bit of a force clueless look. "Do you have one of these?"

He looks puzzled. "Of course I do, why do you--"

"Can I see it?" Marian inquired, leaning toward him.

This was beginning to get annoying. She had more people she needed to get to and without all the chatter which took time away.

"Giving you back what's rightfully yours."

Getting a once over on his body for where it would line up, without waiting politely now, she flashed him the cure code.

Bruck follows Oracle's lead in administering the cure to binomes that she misses; all things considered, he can't help himself. Still, he's making an attempt to stick by Enzo (though Enzo is clearly able to hold his own around here, and Bruck has managed some particularly impressive moves on his zipboard...all due to his clumsiness.

They pass a particularly big mansion, on the veranda of which a 1 in a loud floral shirt is sipping something with an umbrella in it. "Why, it's little Enzo!" he calls in a voice that, had Bruck been familiar with classic sitcoms, might have reminded him of a certain marooned millionaire. "Who's your friend? Did he come here with the Word?"

"Uh, sure! Yeah, that's right! Mr. Mitchell, this is Bonzo. Bonzo, why don't you go say hi to Mr. Mitchell?" he says pointedly.

Bruck heads on over to Mr. Mitchell. What in the world is the Word? Must be the infection... "Nice to meet you. Here...let me give you a hand." And he applies the cure to Mr. Mitchell.

"What the... Hey!" exclaims Mr. Mitchell, then cries out as the white light of the cure envelops him.

"Oh, my... That was simply dreadful. Bowing like that to a virus who didn't even offer due compensation... What must everyone think of me?" He smiles at Bruck. "Thank you very much, young man. Here." He tips Bruck eight units.
