This just gets better and better. The ending...that little exchange was so powerful. Just awesome.

And...FIRST. *runs off and hides* ;)

Everything I know about crime I learned from tv. I watch an insane amount of procedurals, so I'm glad a casefile fic works :D

I'll try to have at least one more update this weekend, since for once I actually have some free time :D

You update so fast!

Ohhh! Kinda cliffhanger there.
Now I'm hooked and really want to know what will happen next!

Really looking forward to the next part. :)

This is getting good. I was surprise at Jim for asking the question he did and for Batman telling yes.

Looking forward to the next chapter.

A lot of this story is about trust, and I needed Jim to question this at some point, but I always thought that he doesn't really want to know, as much as he needs to know that Batman trusts him enough to tell him... ;D

Excellent chapter! I loooooove the long pause after Jim's question, then the Bat finally answering, "Yes". That was intense, I wasn't expecting a yes, but I sort of kind of was...erm...if that makes sense? Like, I didn't at first, but then I thought, "Oh hang on, maybe, just maybe..."

Anyway, I'll shut it now.

*runs away feeling stupid*

I think that once I got to that point, it was the only logical answer, as the emotional payoff. It wasn't a reveal, because neither of them is ready for that, but they need to reestablish the trust...

And I did try to make the pause as long as possible, with the two paragraphs in between ;D

Glad you enjoyed it, thanks :)

Heh, I was going to say same thing.

“Yes,” Batman said, not moving, and for a moment Jim thought he must have misheard. No questions, no anger at Jim’s audacity, just a flat admission that resonated in his head almost deafeningly.

Definitely intense. I stopped reading and reread each sentence a few times before I got to the 'yes', and then after the 'yes' as well. Just fantastic writing. The suspense was great.

I wasn't expecting it. But it was so right and it really makes sense. It's awesome how we half had the same expectations as Gordon; the characterization is so spot on that it's possible for that to happen. Oh, I love it.

Can't wait for more! :)
